On November 14th 2015, Québec accessible’s Laurence Parent, Me Melanie Benard and Marie-Eve Veilleux met with disability advocate Irene Lambert. An advocate for over fifty years, she is the co-founder of the Greater Montreal Chapter of the Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians. Her most significant advocacy involvement was in the development and passage of the first comprehensive rights law for persons with disabilities in 1978 in the Province of Quebec. At 85 years old, Irene wants to be involved with Québec accessible to continue her fight against disability discrimination. We feel very lucky to have met her!
